— How globegarden kids imagine the future —

Future shapers

Children are the future. Values that are imparted to them at a young age can have a significant impact on their later development. How do young children envision their future today? One thing is clear: they have bold goals and many dreams, they desire a large family and they already know exactly who will do the cleaning at home.

“When I grow up, I want to be a princess. Maybe a doctor, like my mom. I love going to childcare. I want to have four children who will also go to globegarden.”
Lilly

“My dad is really good at doing laundry. My mom is good at cutting bread. When I grow up, I want to be a teacher and have five children, who should all come here to childcare too.”
Laura

“When I grow up, I want to marry a woman and become a policewoman. My wife and I will do everything together. She’ll also be a policewoman. I want my children to go to globegarden too because it’s so nice here.”
Alma

“I want to be a farmer, uh, a farm woman. I will have 20 children who someone will need to take good care of when I work. That’s why they all should go to globegarden. I’ll marry a man and a woman and we’ll share all the work.”
Sophia

“I want to have a lot of jobs when I grow up. I like cleaning up at globegarden, so I want to be a cleaning lady. But I also want to be an English teacher and a dance teacher. One day I’ll be a cleaning lady, the other two days I’ll be a teacher. On the third day, I’d also like to be a singer and on the fourth a policewoman.”
Charlotte

“I want to be Mickey Mouse by profession. I want to have many children who will also go to globegarden. My wife and I will share the household tasks. I’ll clean because I like it. Our children should then be able to spend equal time with their mom and dad.”
Adrian

“I like airplanes. That’s why I’ll become a pilot. At home, I’ll do all the chores. My child should also go to globegarden and have as many friends as I do.”
Fymen

“Can you be a dinosaur by profession? Because dinosaurs are cool. Then I’ll have a big dinosaur family that also comes here to childcare.”
Klara

“I’m going to be a professional soccer player. My children should then also go to the globegarden here in Basel. We all do the chores at home together. I think that’s good.”
Jari

“I like spending time with mom and dad the most. We can do everything together at home. Sometimes I help with cooking. Maybe I’ll become a chef when I grow up. I also like cake. Maybe I can also be a cake baker by profession.”
Daniel

“When I grow up, I want to be a mom. Or a unicorn. I work every day and my children go to childcare. The nanny picks them up from there when I’m still at work.”
Victoria

“Dad makes dinner well. Mom can read stories really well. I want to be able to do that too. I like it best when both are there and I can play with both. But I also like going to childcare. That’s why my children should come here later too.”
Oliver

“When I grow up, I want to be like Simba. Simba is brave and has a great dad. But lions can’t go to childcare, which is silly.”
Philipp

“I want to be a teacher later because I really like the teachers here at childcare. Maybe I’ll also be a policewoman because I like blue so much. Then I can always wear blue things. Later with my husband, I’ll share all the chores at home. Everyone should do something.”
Sandra

“I want to go to space when I grow up. Last year we built a space station at childcare. It was so much fun. My husband can come to space with me. We live in a rocket together.”
Nadja

“At globegarden, there is a family with five children, but only one dad and one mom. That’s not possible. They need two dads. Two of the children are already in school and you also need a dad to drive the children to school, while the others are brought to childcare, right?”
