A place where children feel at home
Ms Hebib, why did globegarden open the Glasi childcare center?
Glasi is an entirely new neighbourhood in Bülach with around 200 apartments and a wide range of businesses. People live, spend their days and work here, so the need for preschool facilities is correspondingly high. It was a happy coincidence that we were able to take over the newly built childcare center from UnicornKids shortly before it opened.
What makes the location special?
For one thing, we have very high, bright rooms across two floors for three groups, plus a garden of our own. For another, the center is very central and within immediate reach of the railway station.
Where are you placing the focus?
As with every new opening, the first priority is settling in well at the new location. But I also want to create the first highlights for the children as quickly as possible, such as baking and excursions. And one of our educators plays the violin and will be organising a music workshop.
Catering always matters to parents. How is that handled?
At globegarden we attach great importance to freshly prepared, balanced and healthy food. In Glasi we therefore have a cook who prepares meals on site.
Globegarden is known for its comprehensive educational concept. What do you offer here?
From December we will offer the complete early years curriculum with all six educational areas. The center is run bilingually in German and English, both in the care of the children and in contact with parents.
You have already held two open days. What were the reactions?
We were overwhelmed by how many parents came. The rooms were received very positively, and there was a great sense of anticipation that Glasi now has a professionally run, high-quality childcare center as well, open from 6.45 am to 6.45 pm and offering very flexible care arrangements.
Andrea Laura Hebib is a regional manager at
globegarden and responsible for, among others, the Glasi childcare center, which opened on 1 November.
