Globegarden one of the best workplaces in Europe
Zurich (CH) In 2022 the childcare provider globegarden ranks not only among the ten best employers in Switzerland in the category of more than 250 employees, but as of last week also among the best 50 in the whole of Europe. The ranking takes into account employee satisfaction with the employer, as well as trust and diversity in the workplace.
The “Best Large Workplace in Europe 2022” label means that at least 80 per cent of all participating employees gave the company ratings that were higher still, on average, than at the “Great Place to Work” certification globegarden already completed successfully in 2021. The renowned seal of quality compares companies’ workplace cultures in terms of trust, diversity and team spirit. Culture audits conducted together with two expert groups, a trust index and an anonymous employee survey are taken into account. Companies are also assessed on how much employees’ experiences differ depending on their role, gender, background, salary status and other characteristics. On this basis the provider had already been named one of the ten best employers in Switzerland in the spring of this year. The certification process is carried out by Great Place to Work®, the global research and consulting institute for workplace culture.
High employee satisfaction
For Christina Mair, Co-Managing Director and one of the three founders of globegarden, the latest award is further proof of how important the trust and satisfaction of its own employees are for the quality of childcare, and in view of the shortage of skilled staff. “As Switzerland’s leading quality provider of childcare centers, we have been investing in workplace culture for years. As a family-run, innovation-oriented company we offer particularly good working conditions and benefits by industry standards, progressive training and development opportunities, a wide range of pedagogical career paths and room to grow within a modern, innovative education company. We are delighted by this twofold recognition within a single year, in a Swiss and a European comparison, especially as our employees have lived through an extremely demanding time over the past two years because of the coronavirus pandemic.”
Successful ISO quality certification
This summer the provider also successfully completed recertification against the requirements of the ISO 9001 standard for systemic quality management, carried out by TÜV Süd, which globegarden has undergone voluntarily, and so far always successfully, since 2010. Each year both randomly selected childcare centers and the administration are examined against a strict, Europe-wide framework. The 2022 audit particularly commended the introduction of the early years curriculum, unique in the sector, with its six educational areas Art Around, Language Speaks, Math Rocks, Our World, Science Discover and Well Aware.
